Yesterday evening, at the U.S. Capitol Hill building, in the presence of Bosnia's President, Prime Ministers, members of Congress from both Republican and Democratic parties, religious leaders, and leaders of various think tanks—His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Alissa, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, addressed the gathering via a video speech during a ceremony honoring all modern-era genocides and the efforts made to prevent them from happening again.
Additionally, he was exclusively awarded the ceremony’s official citation, the Sarajevo Haggadah. This honor was granted "in recognition of his brave and influential religious and humanitarian contributions to raising global awareness about modern-era genocides, revealing their facts, and strongly opposing denial, minimization, or justifying them."
