H.E. the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars briefed the attendees on the MWL’s strategic missions, both within and beyond the Islamic world, and its responsibility to represent Muslim peoples in international forums. The most recent example of this was its selection last March by the United Nations General Assembly as the spokesperson for Muslim peoples during the first commemoration of the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, held at UN headquarters in New York.
