The Muslim World League Condemns the Approval by the Israeli Occupation Government of a Plan to Build New Settlements in the West Bank and Around Occupied Jerusalem

Makkah:

The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the approval by the Israeli occupation government of a plan to build new settlements in the West Bank and around occupied Jerusalem, along with extremist statements by the occupation’s foreign minister rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state. By doing so, the occupation government continues its provocations, shows disdain for international legitimacy, and deliberately undermines every opportunity to end the war and establish peace.

In a statement from the MWL General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced the Israeli occupation government’s persistent policy of disregarding the lives and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and violating all international and humanitarian values, laws, and norms in the occupied territories. He stressed that the extremist government’s criminal behavior poses a serious threat to the region and the international community, and constitutes the main obstacle to achieving the just and comprehensive peace sought by all.

His Excellency reaffirmed the justice of the Palestinian cause and the historical and legal right of the Palestinian people to their land. He called on the international community to take a sincere and resolute stand to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to end this human tragedy faced by the Palestinian people, and to support their legitimate right to self-determination and the establishment of their state.
