 The Muslim World League Welcomes UN Security Council’s Condemnation of the Terrorist Houthi Militia’s Aggression Against Saudi Arabia

The Muslim World League (MWL) welcomed the statement issued by the members of the UN Security Council on Friday, August 7, 2026, condemning the attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels.
In a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, commended the statement’s emphasis on the need to abide by international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, to respect the sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, and to reject acts that threaten regional security and maritime navigation.
On behalf of the MWL’s global academies, bodies, and councils, and all Muslim peoples under its umbrella, His Excellency reaffirmed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggressors and safeguard its security and sovereignty, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents. He also reaffirmed full solidarity with and support for the efforts of the legitimate Yemeni government and all international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability for Yemen and its people.
